About the Job
Overview
• Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings with fully-defined GD&T. • Perform tolerance stack-ups, FEA for forming/deflection, and design studies for cost & weight. • Specify bend radii, punch-to-die clearances, and draft angles per process capability. • Design or co-design progressive stamping dies, form tools, draw dies, and brake-press tooling. • Review supplier tool designs, conduct try-out reviews, and approve PPAP samples. Coordinate rapid prototypes (laser-cut, CNC-bent, SLA/SLS) and lead dimensional/FAT testing; iterate designs based on test data. 10 % Drive design reviews, resolve manufacturing issues, mentor designers, and contribute to design guidelines & standards. Continuous Improvement 5 % Benchmark new forming technologies, coatings, and recyclable plastic resins; present ROI cases for adoption. Required Qualifications
