Experience: 10-12 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management in companies with a revenue turnover exceeding ?50 Crore. Proven track record of implementing LEAN manufacturing principles in procurement processes. With ambitious plans to scale tenfold in the next four years, we are seeking a Purchase Head to lead procurement strategies and supply chain excellence in alignment with our growth objectives. ________________________________________ Job Description: Position Overview: The Purchase Head will oversee all procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components required for production. The role requires strategic supplier management, alignment with LEAN manufacturing practices, and a focus on building robust procurement processes to support scaling production and maintaining quality standards. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Procurement: o Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with LEAN principles such as KANBAN, single-piece flow, and JIT systems. o Ensure a reliable supply chain by identifying and partnering with vendors capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements. 2. Supplier Management: o Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, focusing on cost optimization and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. o Evaluate supplier performance regularly based on KPIs such as lead time, quality, and cost-effectiveness. o Establish long-term relationships with key suppliers to secure supply stability during growth phases. 3. Inventory Control: o Implement and monitor inventory management practices to minimize holding costs while ensuring material availability for uninterrupted production. o Work closely with production and inventory teams to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory in alignment with JIT principles. 4. LEAN Integration: o Collaborate with production teams to support LEAN manufacturing initiatives, including KANBAN systems and pull-based production workflows. o Ensure procurement processes align with the company's LEAN objectives, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency. 5. Cost Management: o Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring all purchases align with financial goals and production needs. o Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, process improvements, and alternative sourcing. 6. Compliance and Documentation: o Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulatory standards, company policies, and ethical practices. o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for procurement transactions, supplier agreements, and inventory levels. 7. Team Leadership: o Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to enhance their skills and performance. o Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the procurement department. 8. Scalability Support: o Design scalable procurement processes and supplier networks to support the company's ambitious growth targets. o Anticipate future material requirements based on production forecasts and growth plans. ________________________________________ Qualifications: ? Education: Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred. ? Experience: o 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management in companies with a revenue turnover exceeding ?50 Crore. o Proven track record of implementing LEAN manufacturing principles in procurement processes. ? Technical Skills: o Strong knowledge of LEAN practices, including KANBAN, single-piece flow, and JIT. o Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and procurement software. o Familiarity with supplier quality standards and evaluation frameworks. ?
